I actually hate the way that people in general treat gay people. Not only do we have to deal with the assholes who hate use just based on who we like/love, but we have to deal with the people that treat us like the ‘gay friend.’ As soon as you come out being gay instantly becomes your entire identity. For the longest time I wouldn’t tell me, not that I was scared for my safety, but because I didn’t want to be assimilated with the gay stereotype. I hated it way back in grade 9/10 and still hate it today. So since then I have tried not to tell people unless they ask so I’m treated like a normal person.
But honestly, why does your sexuality have to define you? Maybe I’m different and everyone else is normal for having their sexuality define them. But I find it annoying as fuck, and I needed to let it out.
